What is Cellulite And Why Might we Have Found a New Treatment?
Here at Trifecta Med Spa, we’re always monitoring the latest developments and innovations in the world of aesthetics. With that in mind, we have some exciting news to share!
Are you someone who has been hampered with cellulite trouble for years? Do you avoid looking in the mirror because you don’t want to see those lumps and bumps which have plagued you to date? If so, a new development could change your world for the better!
Cellulite does not have a cure to date, and there are only certain ways to minimize the appearance of the issue. Most of these methods, including lasers, are quite costly and the results don’t last the test of time. So, what if we were to tell you that this could all change in the near future, with the envelopment of cellulite treatment?
Soliton are developing a new type of technology which has shown some fantastic results in trials to date. This technology could reverse the appearance of cellulite completely - no pain, no surgery, and no downtime.
Sounds too good to be true? It’s not!
What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is, as we know, due to fat pushing up against the connective tissues below the surface of the skin. When these tissues weaken, the ‘bumpy’ appearance of the underlying fat shows through the top layer of the skin, giving that ionic cellulite look that we all know so well. The weakening of these connective tissues is due to reduction of collagen within the skin, the substance which gives skin extra elasticity and hydration. On top of this, we have something called ‘septa’ Septa are the connective tissues which form columns to give skin strength.
As age ticks on and other environmental factors take hold, septa become stiff naturally but you also have the added effect of collagen loss. This recipe is a huge push towards cellulite formation, and far more women than men are prone to this problem.
As more and more research has gone into what causes cellulite, new ways to actually treat it have come to the fore. To date, none of these have been sufficient over the long-term, however this new technology brings hope that things might be about to change.
So, what is this new technology?
It comes down to an acoustic shockwave which is designed to stimulate the natural production of collagen within the body. By encouraging this collagen production, the body starts to kickstart its own reserves once more. The result? Thicker skin which is far more elastic, and stronger septa as a result. In terms of reducing cellulite for good, this could be the single best option we’ve come up against so far.
New Hope For The Future?
While there are no 100% guarantees about anything to do with cellulite, we have serious hope that a new breakthrough has been made. The trails that have been performed so far are certainly encouraging and in the near future we might be confident enough to be able to wave goodbye to the cellulite problem for good.
Here at Trifecta Med Spa, we’re certainly hoping for great things from this new form of cellulite treatment, and as soon as it is available for widespread use, we’re sure to be able to offer it to you!
